The focus was on a newly developed cleaning process for the ITER fusion reactor in Cadarache (France).<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>Development of a highly specialised cleaning system<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"795\" data-end=\"900\">As part of the project, the following components were developed specifically for use in the ITER reactor:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"902\" data-end=\"1277\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"902\" data-end=\"987\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"904\" data-end=\"987\"><strong data-start=\"904\" data-end=\"933\">One CO\u2082 snow jet nozzle<\/strong> For effective cleaning of extremely narrow gaps<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"988\" data-end=\"1082\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"990\" data-end=\"1082\"><strong data-start=\"990\" data-end=\"1022\">A modular handling system<\/strong> for flexible use in technical systems engineering<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1083\" data-end=\"1173\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1085\" data-end=\"1173\"><strong data-start=\"1085\" data-end=\"1122\">A customised cleaning process<\/strong> for sensitive surfaces in fusion research<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1174\" data-end=\"1222\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1176\" data-end=\"1222\"><strong data-start=\"1176\" data-end=\"1220\">Comprehensive technical documentation<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1223\" data-end=\"1277\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1225\" data-end=\"1277\"><strong data-start=\"1225\" data-end=\"1277\">An operator model for later use in the real world<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1279\" data-end=\"1412\">These components were fully integrated into the network <strong data-start=\"1328\" data-end=\"1360\">Hanselmann cleaning technology<\/strong> and manufactured as <strong data-start=\"1379\" data-end=\"1396\">Mockup model<\/strong> provided.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1279\" data-end=\"1412\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1419\" data-end=\"1462\">Real conditions for realistic tests<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1464\" data-end=\"1728\">For the test series, test surfaces were contaminated with typical particles exactly according to the ITER specifications. These contaminated surfaces were built into the mock-up model in order to create a realistic <strong data-start=\"1663\" data-end=\"1715\">Test setup for CO\u2082 snow jet cleaning<\/strong> to create.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1730\" data-end=\"1936\">The test cleaning was carried out under strictly controlled conditions. The entire trial was prepared and supervised by the Hanselmann team.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2536\" data-end=\"2705\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2712\" data-end=\"2755\">Successful conclusion and follow-up order<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2757\" data-end=\"3014\">The cleaning was completed on 4 April 2025 - all data was collected and evaluated. The results were consistently positive: the newly developed <strong data-start=\"2912\" data-end=\"2965\">CO\u2082 purification process for the ITER fusion reactor<\/strong> proved to be technically feasible and efficient.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3016\" data-end=\"3292\">Based on these results, Hanselmann was immediately entrusted with a follow-up order: <strong data-start=\"3102\" data-end=\"3191\">Two particularly critical components in ITER are to be cleaned by mid-June 2025<\/strong>. This cleaning is a prerequisite for the planned <strong data-start=\"3244\" data-end=\"3291\">First switch-on of the ITER experimental reactor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3016\" data-end=\"3292\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"3299\" data-end=\"3364\">Outlook: Innovation from Crailsheim for the energy of tomorrow<\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3366\" data-end=\"3686\">The project impressively demonstrates how German engineering skills, international research and practice-orientated implementation can go hand in hand.
