The Hauenstein Base Tunnel between Tecknau (BL) and Olten (SO) is 8.1 kilometres (8,134 metres, to be precise) long. The double-track railway tunnel opened in 1916 and connects the two regions directly.<\/p>

The task is complex; the track renewal work is taking place right next to the single-track emergency line.<\/p>

Prefabricated track sections, up to 12,000 mm long and weighing up to 15 tonnes, must be laid with the utmost precision by rotating teams working around the clock.<\/p>

Our heavy-duty colleague Hetramo AG,<\/strong> Schweiz came to see us in Crailsheim in March with the brief; after having lunch together at the office, we drew up a plan, which was then developed into a project proposal, presented to the end client and accepted around three weeks ago.<\/p>

As always, things moved quickly: orders, customs formalities, Swiss insurance cover, work permits, transport permits.<\/p>

In collaboration with Hetramo AG<\/strong> No problem; on your website, you talk exclusively about the physical aspects of your work, and that\u2019s something you\u2019re really good at. When two capable partners hit it off quickly, success can follow.
Last week, we began setting up 24-hour operation using a JMG MC 650 and Spezial Battery Performance. Everything went smoothly, and after just the first week we are already ahead of schedule.<\/p>

We wish our project partner continued success. We are making pioneering history here; never before have railway tracks been laid using this kind of equipment configuration.
