Crailsheim, December 2024 - Hanselmann GmbH has reached a significant milestone and become part of the ITER project, one of the most ambitious energy projects in the world. In September 2024, the first contract was signed with the ITER consortium, guaranteeing Hanselmann a leading role in preparing technical components to meet the highest purity requirements - a crucial step for the successful launch of the fusion reactor.
The work package is being realised as part of the C3 consortium, which consists of three partners:
- OHB Bremen
- Dublin University of Technology
- Hanselmann GmbH Crailsheim

Hanselmann is contributing its expertise in cleanliness and process optimisation to the project. In March 2025, pilot tests of an innovative process developed specifically for the demanding requirements of the ITER project will take place in Crailsheim. This process is intended to raise technical preparation to a new level and is a central component of project implementation.
"We are proud to be part of the ITER project," says Friedrich Hanselmann, Managing Director of Hanselmann GmbH. "Our involvement demonstrates not only our commitment to technological excellence, but also our ability to develop forward-looking solutions to global challenges. This is another milestone for Hanselmann in the field of purity and process optimisation."

The ITER project (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) stands for the global use of modern technologies for researching and utilising fusion energy as a clean and sustainable energy source of the future.
