Internal project logistics for four 50-tonne packages under high pressure
Last week, we were confronted with a challenging project logistics situation at one of our major customers: The originally contracted forwarding agent had to cancel at short notice. Nevertheless, four packages, each weighing around 50 tonnes, had to be transported on time from southern Germany to Bremerhaven - a time pressure that did not allow for any delays.
It was immediately clear to us that our customer could rely on us. We organised a complete replacement solution within just 48 hours. Our team re-planned all the steps, organised suitable heavy-duty transport and was on site at short notice to clear the area at the customer's premises and pick up the packages. We then brought them to our warehouse for safe interim storage, where we were able to finalise the rest of the process quickly but calmly.
Such assignments show us time and again how valuable a well-coordinated team and precise planning are in project logistics. Everyone knew what needed to be done - and everyone pitched in to reliably meet our customer's schedule. It is precisely this co-operation and flexibility that makes project logistics successful for us.
